Be healthy- Be happy!!!!

This article was printed in the Winter 2009-2010 edition of the Post Script newsletter at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC. I read it and it suddenly dawned on me that people really are happier when they are helping others.
I know a man who doesn't have a pot to pee in, but he's out there everyday passing out food for the homeless, even when he himself was homeless. He said it made him feel good. I thought that was odd at the time, but I understand now.
I am especially proud of this article because Kathy Hughes is my sister, and she ALWAYS makes everyone smile. She just has such a calmness about her. I wish you could hear her talk about holding the crack babies in the nursery, or volunteering to work in the reception area. She is the first person who is more than happy to help you or your loved one at the hospital. Yes, SHE is a happy person and very much loved. She's even good for my health! So go ahead, be HAPPY and HEALTHY. It's the truth....my wise sister said so!
